You do NOT need to update the firmware on your adapter if purchased from BasherBoards after March 2017. All adapters are shipped with the newest firmware. If a new firmware is released, you will receive an email stating as such. Regardless of what you may have read or seen online, updating the firmware on your CPX will do NOTHING to fix issues you may be having with your adapter unless it is on an old firmware. CPX Panel Application
Firmware Version Information

General
Flashing the CPX firmware currently requires Windows and Microsoft .Net framework in order to run the application necessary. Microsoft .Net can be obtained here: https://www.microsoft.com/net/download
There are two versions of the adapter: CPX V1 and CPX V2. CPX V1 will not have any version designations on the label. V2 will either have "Version 2" on the label or "V2" on the back. The only change between V1 and V2 adapters was the ability for the V2 adapter to sense the voltage from the wheel and determine when it is connected or turned on. The helps facilitate pedal range initialization on the wheel.

Notes:

• Improved support for CSL Elite LC and CSP V3.
• Improved resolution from 8 to 10 bit for CSL Elite LC and CSP V3.
• Improved brake gain adjustment for CSL Elite LC and CSP V3.
• Increased brake gain range for CSP V1, V2 and CSR Elite.
• Pedal range initialization added: Upon first stepping on any pedal, maximum and minimum values are sent to the wheel. This takes place after powering up the CPX or after 20 minutes of inactivity.
• MODE button assigned to pedal range initialization: Press the button at any time after power up to send initialization signals to the wheel.
• Do not press any of the pedals or the MODE button while the wheel is spinning on its own after startup.

CPX Panel Application

Current Version: 1.2
The CPX Panel application is used for troubleshooting (through support) and for flashing new firmware to your CPX adapter. The application was written by me and is safe. If your browser, anti-virus or Windows complain about the application, please allow it to run. As part of the firmware update process, the application will connect to my website in order to obtain the newest firmware versions. Thus, you must have an internet connection and allow the application access in order to obtain the firmware and flash your adapter.

Firmware Update Instructions

As stated above, you will need Windows and Microsoft .Net framework in order to run the application. Microsoft .Net can be obtained here: https://www.microsoft.com/net/download

Please note: You may need to update the firmware on your CSP V3 or CSL Elite LC pedals. Try the CPX update first, if you run into issues, check the firmware on your pedals.

1. Download CPX Panel here Click to download
2. Run the program. If you get a warning that the program might be malicious, please ignore it.
3. Click on the "Firmware" tab in the app.
4. While holding the MODE button on your CPX, plug it into the PC. Then release the button.
5. Watch the app. You will see the status change once the CPX is recognized. It may take a moment.
6. Follow the steps in the app on the Firmware page. You need to select the correct adapter version. The Output window at the bottom will show the progress.
7. When complete the adapter will disconnect.
8. Close the CPX Panel application.
9. When connecting setting everything back up for normal use, you should always plug the CPX adapter USB connection in last.
